Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water (just off the boil, about 105‑110°F)
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- ½ teaspoon finely ground dried chrysanthemum petals
- ¼ teaspoon finely ground dried goji berries
- ⅛ teaspoon sea salt (preferably Celtic or Himalayan)
- 1 small pinch of freshly grated ginger (about ¼ teaspoon)
How to Make It
- Heat the water in a small saucepan until it reaches a gentle simmer, then remove from heat and let it sit for a minute so the temperature drops to roughly 105‑110°F. The water should be warm enough to dissolve the honey but not so hot that it destroys the delicate antioxidants in the herbs.
- Add the raw honey to the warm water and stir until fully dissolved. You’ll know the honey is incorporated when the liquid becomes uniformly glossy and no granules remain.
- Sprinkle the ground chrysanthemum petals and goji berry powder into the honey‑water mixture. Stir continuously for about 30 seconds; the drink should develop a faint amber hue and a subtle floral aroma.
- Stir in the sea salt, watching for a slight cloudiness that clears quickly as the salt dissolves. The salt helps balance the flavor and supports electrolyte balance for the eyes.
- Finally, add the freshly grated ginger. Mix until the ginger is evenly distributed and you can smell its warm, spicy scent. The drink is ready when all powders are fully suspended and the surface shows a gentle, steady steam.
- Pour the drink into a mug, let it sit for a minute to reach a comfortable sipping temperature, then enjoy it about 30 minutes before bedtime.
