I Finally Chose My Daughter Over the Life I Sacrificed Everything For, and Now the Vance Empire Will Crumble

Victoria’s Proposal

My hands trembled as I scrolled through Julian’s emails, searching for the evidence I needed. The doorbell rang, jolting me from my thoughts. With a deep breath, I opened the door to find Victoria standing there, her expression unreadable.

“Eleanor,” she said, her voice dripping with faux sympathy. “We need to talk.”

I hesitated, my heart pounding. Trusting her felt dangerous. “What do you want?”

“I want to help you,” she insisted, stepping inside uninvited. “But there’s a price.”

I crossed my arms, unsettled. “What kind of help?”

“Julian doesn’t deserve Maya. He never has.” Her eyes glimmered with a mix of disdain and something darker. “I can provide you with what you need to win this fight. But you have to keep my secrets.”

She leaned in closer, lowering her voice. “You think I don’t know what he’s done to that girl? I can expose him, but only if you agree to silence about our family’s…”

I recoiled at her words. The thought of aligning myself with Victoria made my stomach turn. “Why should I trust you?”

“Because,” she said, her tone sharp, “you have no other choice.”

My mind raced as I considered her offer. Being able to take down Julian could mean everything for Maya, but at what cost? “What secrets are we talking about?”

“The Vance empire isn’t built on honesty, Eleanor. Think carefully.”

Staring into her calculating gaze, I felt trapped. I took a deep breath. “Fine. I’ll do it.”

“Excellent,” Victoria said, her lips curling into a sly smile. “You won’t regret it.”

Confrontation at the Vance Mansion

The weight of what I discovered crushed me as I stood in the Vance mansion, heart racing. I was ready to confront Julian and reveal everything. My hands shook but I steadied myself. I was no longer that silent wife.

“Julian!” I called, my voice echoing through the vast entryway, a stark contrast to the memories of laughter that once filled these walls. He appeared, his smug expression fading as he registered my furious demeanor.

“What is it now, Eleanor? I don’t have time for your dramatics,” he snapped.

I stepped closer, adrenaline surging. “We need to talk about Maya!”

His brows furrowed. “What about her? She’s not my priority right now.”

“That’s where you’re wrong,” I declared. “She’s your daughter, Julian. But you’ve been treating her like a burden.”

“Watch your tone. You’re about to cross a line,” he warned, but I pressed on.

“I know about your plans to send her away to that boarding school, but you won’t get away with it!”

His eyes narrowed, but before he could respond, I pulled out my phone, ready to expose the truth I had gathered.

“You think that pathetic documentation will scare me?” he scoffed. “You’re delusional.”

“What’s delusional is thinking you can hide the truth forever,” I shot back. “You’ve abused your own daughter, Julian.”

Just as he opened his mouth to retort, a loud crash echoed from the kitchen. A moment later, Sarah bolted into the room, her face ashen.

“Eleanor! You need to hear this!” she exclaimed, breathless.

“What is it?” I asked, anxiety creeping in.

“Maya… Genevieve isn’t who you think she is. She’s been hiding something huge!”

“What are you talking about?” Julian barked, his irritation palpable.

“Maya isn’t your daughter!” Sarah blurted out. “She’s Genevieve’s child… with another man.”

A wave of shock crashed over me. The implications were staggering. “What?” I gasped, my mind racing.

Julian’s face drained of color. “That’s not possible!”

“It is. Genevieve’s been lying to everyone, including you. You’ve been abusing a child that isn’t even biologically yours,” Sarah said, her voice trembling.

The room fell into a stunned silence as the weight of the truth settled. I felt a surge of vindication and horror all at once. The empire he built was built on a lie. And now it was crumbling.
