How to remove scratches from glasses and restore their new, shiny appearance: a simple recipe

Rinse thoroughly and dry gently

Once you’ve wiped the lenses with detergent, it’s essential to rinse away any lingering soap residue. Residue can create a film that obscures vision and can interact with future cleaning agents, potentially causing streaks.

Why this works: Rinsing with clean, lukewarm water removes the surfactant molecules that could otherwise dry as a hazy film. It also flushes out any loosened particles that were lifted during the wiping stage.

How to do it: Hold the glasses under a gentle stream of lukewarm water, allowing water to flow over both sides of each lens. Tilt the glasses so water runs from the top to the bottom, ensuring all detergent is washed away. After rinsing, immediately pat the lenses dry with a fresh section of the microfiber cloth.
